Seahawks Sign Kemp Rasmussen

From Seahawks.com:

The Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent DE Kemp Rasmussen, the club announced Thursday.

A four-year veteran, Rasmussen played in 15 games with the Carolina Panthers in 2005, mostly on special teams. He has played in 50 career games, all with the Panthers, totaling 12 tackles, one sack and 45 special teams tackles. In 2002, he was the only undrafted rookie free agent to earn a spot on Carolina’s opening day roster and played in 11 games.

Rasmussen, 6-3, 265, was part of the 2003 Super Bowl Panthers team. In that season he posted six special teams postseason tackles, ranking second on the club.

A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection at Indiana, Rasmussen moved to defensive tackle prior to his senior season and responded by posting team highs with 6.5 sacks and five forced fumbles while recording 50 stops, three batted passes and one blocked kick.
