Seahawk Acquire Green for 6th Round Pick

From Seahawks.com:

The Seattle Seahawks have acquired S Mike Green from the Chicago Bears via trade for this year’s sixth-round draft choice (200th overall).

Green, originally the final overall selection in the 2000 NFL Draft by Chicago, started 45 of 81 games for the Bears during his six seasons with the club and totaled 437 career tackles, six sacks, four interceptions, five forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries.

Green became a starter at strong safety in 2002 starting all 16 games finishing second on the team with a career high 138 tackles. He was limited with a groin injury in 2003, starting just eight of 10 games, before returning to start all 16 games in 2004 and totaling 132 tackles. He saw action in all 16 games in 2005, starting three at free safety. Last season he collected 51 tackles, one interception, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

From Northwestern State (La.), Green was the Bears second-leading tackler behind All Pro linebacker Brian Urlacher over the last four seasons. The trade is contingent upon Green passing his physical.
