Magic Lose to 76ers 81-89

From Sportsline.com:

The Philadelphia 76ers might have surprised themselves the way they dealt with the absence of Allen Iverson on Sunday.

They certainly surprised the Orlando Magic.

Chris Webber scored 18 points and John Salmons added 17 to help the 76ers beat the Magic 89-81 on Sunday.

The 76ers played without Iverson, who missed his second straight game with a sprained left ankle. Iverson, second in the NBA in scoring at 33.6 points per game, is day to day.

"If you're missing a player like Allen you have to overcompensate," Philadelphia coach Maurice Cheeks said. "You're not going to replace a guy who scores 33-34 points a game, but you can replace him in other areas when you get production from everyone."

Magic point guard Steve Francis had 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists while teammate Dwight Howard added 14 points and 11 rebounds, but Orlando struggled to find an offensive rhythm and lost at home for the first time in eight games.

"It was bad," Francis said. "I thought we'd be more prepared and guys would come out and play harder. They outplayed us in every aspect of the game."
