Magic Beat Kings in OT 83-78

From Sportsline.com:

Even though he was only 4-for-20 from the field, Steve Francis made the shots that counted.

Francis had 18 points and nine rebounds, and made four free throws in overtime to give the Orlando Magic an 83-78 win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.

The All-Star guard also made the basket that forced overtime on a layup with 21 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Mike Bibby then dribbled to the baseline and kicked it out to Brad Miller, who missed a long jumper that would've given the Kings the win.

The Kings didn't make a field goal in the overtime period, and the Magic only had one.

"If we go out there and play defense, we can win games," DeShawn Stevenson said.

Stevenson's 20-foot jumper with 2:40 left in overtime gave the Magic their first lead since early in the second quarter. Orlando extended it to 78-76 on Hedo Turkoglu's free throw after Kenny Thomas was called for a foul with 2:02 left, then a technical for throwing the ball toward the scorer's table.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim tied it at 78 with two free throws with 42 seconds remaining, but Francis gave Orlando an 80-78 lead with two free throws with 23 seconds left. He sealed the win with two more with 5.2 seconds to go.
