Howell Placed on IR, Kashama Sign to Roster

From Seahawks.com:

The Seattle Seahawks placed safety John Howell on injured reserve and signed defensive end Alain Kashama to the 53-man active roster, the team announced today.

Howell, who suffered a hamstring injury at San Francisco, played in 10 games this season primarily on special teams, where he recorded 11 special teams tackles. He saw time at safety one time this year at Arizona.

Seattle acquired Kashama August 28 for a 2006 conditional draft choice and spent the first four weeks of the season on the inactive list. Released October 4 after the team signed Jerheme Urban but signed to the practice squad the next day.

The Seahawks also signed second-year defensive end Bryant McNeal to their practice squad. He was originally a fourth-round choice (128th overall) of the Denver Broncos in the 2003 NFL Draft and spent last season as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
