Warrick to Visit Seattle

From Mike Sando at The News Tribune:

Peter Warrick is coming to Seattle for a checkup.

The No. 4 overall draft choice in 2000, released Tuesday by the Cincinnati Bengals, was expected to visit with Seahawks officials today.

Results of a physical examination could determine whether Seattle makes a strong run at procuring his services.

Warrick, 28, suffered a knee injury in 2003 and a broken fibula last season. When healthy, he was an effective punt returner and possession receiver; his numbers in 2003 included 79 catches and a 10.9-yard average on punt returns.
For his career, Warrick has 264 catches for 2,811 yards and 18 touchdowns. He has rushed 52 times for 355 yards and two scores. He also has 54 punt returns for 526 yards and two touchdowns, with four returns of 20-plus yards in 2003.

He had missed only two games in four seasons before missing 12 last season.

The Seahawks are expected to keep six receivers once final cuts are made next week.

Darrell Jackson, Bobby Engram, Joe Jurevicius, Alex Bannister and D.J. Hackett appear safe. Warrick, if signed, would likely round out the group.
