Seahawks Beat Chiefs 23-17

From Seahawks.com:

Seattle Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren wanted to put his first team through the rigors of a full first half Saturday night in Arrowhead Stadium.

Let’s see how quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and the offense move the football against the Kansas City Chiefs.

And about that defense...it’s time to know who the linebackers will be along with the solidified defensive line and secondary.

So what did Holmgren find out in the Seahawks’ 23-17 win?“I think we learned a little bit about our football team tonight,” Holmgren said. “I know this: Kansas City has an outstanding offensive football team. They displayed it on their first drive, then we settled in a little bit on our defense, which was good. We played against a good offensive football team.”

The Chiefs came at Hasselbeck from every direction. They blitzed from every angle, every linebacker and defensive back. There were even times when it appeared a few of the Chiefs fans came out of the stands after him.

But when all was said and done, he had completed 22-of-33 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns, with seven completions to Darrell Jackson for 99 yards – which was six more catches than he had managed in the first two games.
